  • The Big Squeeze
The annual list of corporate Canada's most profit-drenched companies has arrived, and it's top heavy with banks, oil companies and BCE. The latest ROB ranking of Canada's Top 1000 Companies is dominated by stalwarts, with Royal Bank once again topping the list, followed closely by BCE Inc., which jumped 28 places year-over-year to secure second place.

As John Daly writes: "The fact that many of the leaders still earned hefty profits, although less than the year before, says a lot about their ability to roll with the punches amid global economic turmoil. That and their ability to keep squeezing steady income out of stolid, reliable Canadian consumers." Read Daly's article, plus view the wonderful tables in the right hand sidebar.
